Emergency Code Release 2.0.1

2.0.1 — Feedback's fixed, and a bunch of the sim got more real

Hey everyone — this update's a big one, even though the version number doesn't look like it. A lot of the core simulation just got a lot more honest, and one long-standing bug finally got fixed for good.

🛠️ The feedback button — fixed, and I'm sorry

Straight up: the feedback button has been broken since it was added. It was silently failing to actually reach me, so if you ever filled it out and it seemed to just vanish into the void — that's why, and I'm genuinely sorry. You did nothing wrong, and I know some of you tried more than once.

It's fixed now, for real this time. Hit 💬 Feedback, fill it out, hit submit — it goes straight through. If you've got a minute, I'd really appreciate hearing what you think, especially now that it'll actually reach me.

💊 Medications now have real consequences

This was the big one under the hood. Meds used to be pretty much "click and nothing bad happens, ever." Now:

  • Overdosing or stacking dangerous drug combos can genuinely push a patient into cardiac arrest — for real, not just a low-odds dice roll.
  • New toxicology interactions to watch for: stacking QT-prolonging drugs (torsades), giving calcium after digoxin toxicity ("stone heart"), precipitating opioid withdrawal with naloxone, and volume-overloading a patient with too much fluid/blood product.
  • Key meds (epi, atropine, adenosine, naloxone, morphine) now have a real dose-selection menu instead of one fixed dose — pick standard or weight-based, and it's logged exactly.

🫀 CPR is now press-and-hold

Chest compressions require you to actually hold the button down — let go for too long during a code and you lose cardiac output for real. No more "click once and forget about it."

📋 CareTrack got a full rebuild

The patient chart is now a proper 5-tab system: Clinical Summary, Lab Panels, H&P, Resuscitation Logs, and Notes. You can also pull it up mid-code now to review without the clock (and the alarms) running against you.

🚑 EMS radio calls now happen for every admission

Not just Live Shift patients — any EMS-transported patient now gets radioed in with their report before they show up, however you admit them.

📈 The EKG line doesn't glitch anymore

If you noticed the live monitor line occasionally jumping or flickering right at a beat — that's fixed. It was a rendering bug in how the trace redrew itself; the line is stable now.

🗓️ Custom Shift Creator

Script your own shift — up to 4 patients, assigned to specific beds, with their own arrival timing. Save it, load it up anytime, works no matter what difficulty settings you've got on.

🔊 Audio controls

Telemetry beeps, alarms, and PA announcements can now be toggled independently instead of one all-or-nothing mute.

Thanks for sticking with this project, and especially thanks to everyone who tried to leave feedback before this fix went in — it mattered, even if I never actually saw it. That won't happen again.

As always, if something's broken or you've got an idea, that button in the corner actually works now. 😄
